| Allcom Establishes New England Presence |
May 2004 – Following the development of strong business relationships in Armidale and Uralla, and the surrounding greater New England, Allcom is pleased to announce the opening of its second regional office in New South Wales.
Since initial involvement with the New England Smart Community Action Project (NESCAP) in 2001, Allcom has continued to be impressed by the passion and vision of the district leaders. There is tremendous ongoing support for innovation and the application of new and advanced technologies throughout the region.
Coupled with the local availability of broadband services, this vision and support for technological innovation has created realistic opportunities for the delivery of quality IT solutions with true business benefits, throughout the entire New England region.
Whilst already supporting a number of clients within this region, Allcom views the establishment of a local presence as a positive step, both for achieving business growth and for the strengthening of existing relationships through the provision of enhanced services and local support capabilities.
Thus far, Allcom has been pleased by the level of response and support provided by the local business community.
Allcom’s own vision is to be a good corporate citizen through the development of local employment opportunities for the talented individuals emerging from the regions’ quality schools, TAFE and university. We are also keen to embrace and develop projects that will provide a strong and ongoing community benefit.
Mr Philip Steedman, formerly of Sun Microsystems, will manage and develop Allcom’s Armidale based New England Regional office.
